Introduction: Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (known as ITP) is a complex disease characterized by a decrease in the platelet count specifically at the peripheral blood level (we observed <150,000/mm3 platelets), this pathology has its appearance due to a appearance of certain antibodies. They are characterized by exerting their action at the level of platelet antigens, leading to two events, that is, either their destruction or leading to the inhibition of their production. This pathology does not have a preference for a specific age. Objective: To analyze ITP treatments in adults, which was possible through a bibliographic review to determine their effectiveness in the management of this pathology. Methodology: A retrospective and correlational study was carried out, through a bibliographic review of scientific articles published in a period from 2018 to 2022, obtained through a series of highly relevant search engines such as Scielo, in the same way we highlight Redalyc, as well as Pubmed, and finally ScienceDirect. Results: The benefits of methylprednisolone are highlighted, whose efficacy allows reaching levels of 50,000 platelets in approximately thirty-nine months, in what corresponds to the second line, romiplostim, shows to be the best treatment option, achieving normal counts. of platelets, in an average of thirty-six months.
