Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) group together numerous multifactorial pathologies. Incidence and mortality rates are decreasing worldwide, due to better strategies in both early diagnosis and treatment. It is important that the management of these diseases is carried out in a multidisciplinary manner.
Development: An article reviewing the documents of scientific societies on the treatment of cardiovascular disease and heart failure, as well as systematic reviews and current scientific studies was carried out through the search engines SCOPUS, WOS and Pubmed and Google Scholar both in Spanish. like in English.
Practical applications or future lines of research: In recent years, different lines of research have been developed such as cell treatment or the implementation of artificial intelligence with promising results.
Conclusions: Cardiovascular risk is attributed to modifiable risk factors, it is important that the main indicators of cardiovascular health are met: The evaluation of patients with cardiovascular disease requires stratification of cardiovascular risk and determining the severity of the disease. Pharmacological treatment should focus on the patient's needs
